LeanSub for WooCommerce
Sell subscriptions from WooCommerce without a heavy subscriptions suite. You set the interval, trial and sign-up fee on a simple product; Stripe Billing on your own Stripe account charges every renewal; LeanSub turns Stripe's signed webhooks into WooCommerce renewal orders.
What it does
- A Subscription option on simple products: bill every 1 to 12 days, weeks, months or years, with an optional free trial and sign-up fee.
- Works with the Cart and Checkout blocks and the classic checkout. HPOS compatible.
- Renewal orders created from HMAC-verified, de-duplicated Stripe webhooks.
- Failed payments: the customer is emailed on every failure, retries on the days you choose, then cancel or hold.
- My Account: pause, resume, cancel, and update the card through the Stripe customer portal.
- Admin list under WooCommerce → Subscriptions with filters, search and actions.
Honest scope of 1.0
- Stripe only. It needs the official WooCommerce Stripe Gateway, which takes the first payment. LeanSub is not a payment gateway and never sees card data.
- Stripe Billing fees apply on top of normal card fees, because Stripe Billing charges the renewals.
- Simple products only, one subscription product per order. No PayPal, variable subscriptions, plan switching or proration yet.
Requirements
WordPress 7.0+, PHP 7.4+, WooCommerce 10.2+, WooCommerce Stripe Gateway, a Stripe account with Billing enabled.
Price, licence and refunds
$49 a year for one site (₹3,999 in India), renewing yearly; cancel any time. The plugin is GPL and keeps working without a licence; the licence key gives you updates and support. Activating the key on another site moves it there.
