Freshping is gone. Here is how to get your checks back.

Freshworks disabled Freshping on 6 March 2026; free accounts could export data until 4 June 2026 and paid accounts for 90 days after their term. If you missed the window, rebuild the list from alert emails, Slack history and your DNS zone, paste the URLs into Vigil's URL-list importer, and you are monitoring again in minutes, free for up to 20 checks.

Free plan: 20 monitors at 5-minute checks, commercial use allowed, no card. New accounts also get a 14-day trial of a paid plan.

The dates that matter

  • 6 March 2026: Freshworks disabled free Freshping accounts; paid subscriptions due on or after that date were not renewed and stopped at the end of their term.
  • 4 June 2026: last day free accounts could export their data. Paid accounts can export for 90 days after their subscription ends; after that Freshworks deletes the data.
  • Freshworks named no replacement product. Source: the Freshping deprecation FAQ (support.freshping.io), read in September 2026.

Export checklist

  1. Still inside the window (paid accounts)? Request the data export from your Freshping account settings; the download link arrives by email within about 48 hours. Keep the file.
  2. Window closed? Search your inbox for Freshping alert emails ("is down", "is up"): every alert names the check and its URL. Do the same in the Slack or Microsoft Teams channel Freshping posted to.
  3. List the hostnames in your DNS zone and your web server or hosting panel. Any public site or API you run but cannot find in step 2 probably needs a check too.
  4. If you had a public Freshping status page, note its components and subscriber list (subscribers have to opt in again; nobody can move them for you).
  5. Write the URLs one per line. Add the expected keyword if a check looked for one.

Recreate it in Vigil

  1. Create a free account; you land on the importer with URL list selected. Paste the URLs and pick an interval (5 minutes on Free, 1 minute on paid plans).
  2. Add an alert channel and send a test alert. Freshping's email and Slack alerts map to Vigil's email and Slack channels; Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, Teams and webhooks are also there.
  3. Create a status page and add the monitors as components. Status pages are private by default; switch it to public if yours was.
  4. Freshping's free tier allowed 50 checks at 1 minute; Vigil Free is 20 at 5 minutes. If you need all 50 at 1 minute, Starter is $19 a month (₹1,499 in India) with unlimited team members.

Questions

Can I still log in to Freshping?

No. Free accounts were disabled on 6 March 2026 and paid accounts stop at the end of their term. Only the export window for paid accounts (90 days after the term) remains.

Do my Freshping status page subscribers come across?

No tool can move them for you: they subscribed to Freshworks. Put the new status page link in your next customer email or site footer and let people subscribe again by email, Slack, Discord or webhook.

Is a 5-minute check good enough?

For most small sites, yes: an outage is caught within 5 minutes and confirmed by a retry before anyone is woken. If a minute matters, paid plans check every minute.

Before you switch: honest limits

  • Vigil's checks run from one location (Hetzner, Germany) plus any private locations you install; there is no multi-region confirmation yet. Every failure is re-checked after 12 seconds before it counts.
  • Hosted Vigil does not make phone calls or send SMS. WhatsApp alerts go through CallMeBot and suit personal use.
  • Fastest interval is 1 minute (5 minutes on Free).
