Recent outages
No outages recorded in the last 7 days of checks.
Let's Encrypt incident history since 20 October 2026
Let's Encrypt's status page reported 0 incidents.
No incidents in the 1 day we have data for: the status page reported none.
How to read this: every number comes from checks run from one location, Vigil's server at Hetzner in Falkenstein, Germany, every 5 minutes; there are no user reports and no second region. Durations and acknowledgement delays are accurate to about ±5 minutes. We have no direct check of Let's Encrypt itself, so this table lists what Let's Encrypt's status page published and cannot say how quickly incidents were acknowledged. Components are not broken out: we store the page's overall indicator and open incident titles. Last 90 days at most. Official vs observed, all services.
What this check measures
Official status page (status.io API). Let's Encrypt's own status page (letsencrypt.status.io, hosted on status.io). Every 5 minutes we read the overall status it publishes through status.io's public API (operational, degraded, partial or full disruption, maintenance). It reflects what the Let's Encrypt team has posted; it cannot see a renewal that fails only for your domain, for example because of DNS, a firewall or a rate limit.
Official sources
How we measure: every check is stored and feeds the service reliability dataset (uptime, outage episodes and response times of all 63 services, CSV). What the percentage means: uptime, explained.
Let's Encrypt not working? Questions and answers
Is Let's Encrypt down for everyone or just me?
This page shows what our own checks see from a server in Europe, independent of your phone, Wi-Fi or mobile network. If this page says Let's Encrypt is up but it fails for you, the problem is more likely local: your internet connection, DNS, your ISP's route, the app version, or your account. If this page shows failures too, it is probably down for many people.
What should I do if Let's Encrypt is not working?
Check the official status page linked above, reload or force-close and reopen the app, try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi (or the other way round), and clear the browser cache. For API, CI or deploy failures, retry with exponential backoff and check which component the status page lists; queued jobs usually resume on their own.
How often is Let's Encrypt checked?
Every 5 minutes, around the clock. Each check is stored, so the uptime figures and the history on this page are real measurements, not user reports.
How can I get alerted when Let's Encrypt has an outage?
Create a free Vigil account and add a monitor for Let's Encrypt: a dependency monitor that watches its official status page, or an uptime check of the exact URL your business relies on. Vigil alerts you on Telegram, Slack, Discord, email or webhook.
