What this check measures
Official status page (Statuspage API). Slack's own public status page. Every 5 minutes we read the overall indicator the Slack team publishes (operational, minor issues, major or critical outage, maintenance). This reflects what Slack has acknowledged: a fresh problem can take a few minutes to appear there, and a problem that affects only your account, region or network may never appear.

Slack not working? Questions and answers
Is Slack down for everyone or just me?
This page shows what our own checks see from a server in Europe, independent of your phone, Wi-Fi or mobile network. If this page says Slack is up but it fails for you, the problem is more likely local: your internet connection, DNS, your ISP's route, the app version, or your account. If this page shows failures too, it is probably down for many people.
What should I do if Slack is not working?
Check the official status page linked above, reload or force-close and reopen the app, try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi (or the other way round), and clear the browser cache. Messages sent during an outage are usually delivered once it recovers; for calls, try the desktop app or a phone dial-in.
How often is Slack checked?
Every 5 minutes, around the clock. Each check is stored, so the uptime figures and the history on this page are real measurements, not user reports.
How can I get alerted when Slack has an outage?
Create a free Vigil account and add a monitor for Slack: a dependency monitor that watches its official status page, or an uptime check of the exact URL your business relies on. Vigil alerts you on Telegram, Slack, Discord, email or webhook.
