How to read this: every number comes from checks run from one location, Vigil's server at Hetzner in Falkenstein, Germany, every 5 minutes; there are no user reports and no second region. Durations and acknowledgement delays are accurate to about ±5 minutes. We have no direct check of Snowflake itself, so this table lists what Snowflake's status page published and cannot say how quickly incidents were acknowledged. Components are not broken out: we store the page's overall indicator and open incident titles. Last 90 days at most. Official vs observed, all services.
What this check measures
Official status page (Statuspage API). Snowflake's own public status page. Every 5 minutes we read the overall indicator the Snowflake team publishes (operational, minor issues, major or critical outage, maintenance). This reflects what Snowflake has acknowledged: a fresh problem can take a few minutes to appear there, and a problem that affects only your account, region or network may never appear.
Official sources
How we measure: every check is stored and feeds the service reliability dataset (uptime, outage episodes and response times of all 63 services, CSV). What the percentage means: uptime, explained.
Snowflake not working? Questions and answers
Is Snowflake down for everyone or just me?
This page shows what our own checks see from a server in Europe, independent of your phone, Wi-Fi or mobile network. If this page says Snowflake is up but it fails for you, the problem is more likely local: your internet connection, DNS, your ISP's route, the app version, or your account. If this page shows failures too, it is probably down for many people.
What should I do if Snowflake is not working?
Check the official status page linked above, reload or force-close and reopen the app, try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi (or the other way round), and clear the browser cache. For a database or data platform, check which region and cluster the status page lists, and let your client library retry with backoff rather than opening new connections in a loop.
How often is Snowflake checked?
Every 5 minutes, around the clock. Each check is stored, so the uptime figures and the history on this page are real measurements, not user reports.
How can I get alerted when Snowflake has an outage?
Create a free Vigil account and add a monitor for Snowflake: a dependency monitor that watches its official status page, or an uptime check of the exact URL your business relies on. Vigil alerts you on Telegram, Slack, Discord, email or webhook.
