⇄ HTTP request tester
This HTTP request tester sends a GET or HEAD request from our server, like curl, and shows the status code, DNS, connect, TLS and time-to-first-byte timings, every redirect, the response headers, the TLS certificate and the first 2 KB of the body. Requests stop after 15 seconds; 20 free checks an hour.
Send a GET or HEAD request from our server and see exactly what comes back: status, timing, every redirect, headers, TLS and the start of the body.
Why from a server?
Your browser adds cookies, caches and CORS rules. This sends one clean request from the public internet, the way an API client or a monitoring probe sees your endpoint.
What you get
Status and reason, DNS / TCP / TLS / TTFB / download timing, each redirect with its status, all response headers, the TLS version, cipher and certificate, and the first 2 KB of the body.
Limits
GET and HEAD only, public http(s) addresses only, 10-second timeout, 5 redirects, 20 checks per hour per visitor.
Run this request every minute and get alerted when it breaks
A Vigil HTTP monitor sends this exact request on a schedule from several locations, checks the status code, response time, headers and body content, and alerts you when anything is off, with the failing response attached to the incident.
