What this check measures
HTTPS request from our server in Europe. The Passport Seva website (passportindia.gov.in). It does not log in or book appointments.
A passing check means Passport Seva's website answered our server in Europe with a normal page. It does not prove that logins, payments or the mobile app work, and a site that blocks non-Indian traffic would look down here while working in India.

Passport Seva not working? Questions and answers
Is Passport Seva down for everyone or just me?
This page shows what our own checks see from a server in Europe, independent of your phone, Wi-Fi or mobile network. If this page says Passport Seva is up but it fails for you, the problem is more likely local: your internet connection, DNS, your ISP's route, the app version, or your account. If this page shows failures too, it is probably down for many people.
What should I do if Passport Seva is not working?
Check the official status page linked above, reload or force-close and reopen the app, try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi (or the other way round), and clear the browser cache. Government portals slow down near filing deadlines, so try again outside peak hours, and keep the acknowledgement or application number.
How often is Passport Seva checked?
Every 5 minutes, around the clock. Each check is stored, so the uptime figures and the history on this page are real measurements, not user reports.
How can I get alerted when Passport Seva has an outage?
Create a free Vigil account and add a monitor for Passport Seva: a dependency monitor that watches its official status page, or an uptime check of the exact URL your business relies on. Vigil alerts you on Telegram, Slack, Discord, email or webhook.
