How do I put my Vigil status page on status.mydomain.com?
Enter the domain in the status page's settings, then add a DNS CNAME record for it pointing to puzaricloud.in. When the first visitor arrives, Vigil requests an HTTPS certificate for the domain by itself, usually within a minute; you never upload a certificate. Custom domains are included on every plan, including Free.
1. Create the page
On Status pages, create a page and pick its monitors. It starts at puzaricloud.in/s/<slug>. Free includes 1 status page.
2. Enter your domain
Open the page's settings and type the full hostname in Custom domain, for example status.example.com, then save. Each domain can belong to one page only.
3. Add the DNS record
At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record: name status, target puzaricloud.in. If your DNS provider can't do that, an A record to the IP address shown under the field works too. Use a subdomain: DNS rules don't allow a CNAME on the bare domain (example.com).
4. Make the page visible
Pages are private by default. Set visibility to Public so visitors see the page on your domain. A Hidden page isn't served at all. Private and password pages ask visitors to log in or enter the password on puzaricloud.in/s/<slug>, so they end up on that address rather than yours.
5. Open it over HTTPS
Once DNS has updated, visit https://status.example.com. The certificate is issued on that first request, so the very first load can take a few seconds. Certificates are only issued for domains saved on a page, and renew automatically. Only the page itself lives on your domain; other paths there redirect to it.
6. If it doesn't load
Check the record with dig status.example.com: it must resolve to puzaricloud.in. Changes can take time to spread, depending on the record's TTL.
